GM’s Hummer Brand Finds Chinese Buyer

General Motors announced it has a buyer for its Hummer brand.

The Chinese buyer Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Co., an industrial firm that until now has not owned an auto brand. The sale is expected to close by the end of the third quarter of this year and is subject to customary closing conditions, including receipt of applicable regulatory approvals.

The deal will secure over 3,000 U.S. jobs in manufacturing and engineering and at Hummer dealerships around the country.
